I like BT010s for the street riding I do. I was using a BT020 on the rear and a BT010 on the front but have discovered that the BT020 rears only last about 500 miles more than the BT010s lately. They power slide much easier and I think I spin them up more that the 010s, wearing them out faster, but I'm not sure. They used to last me 7000 miles. Now I get 5000 miles out of them and 4500 out of BT010s. Going to buy 010s from now on.

Pilot sports
I recently changed tires, and went down form a 190 to a 180 on the rear sneaker. WOW makes a huge difference when turning in, and seems to hold a better, more stable line through the turn. The snow is fuckin up my seat time, so I won't really know til spring how much better it handles!

How's this work? I hear it all the time and have been thinking of trying it next time (the fact that 180s are a whole lot cheaper than 190s doen't hurt). Not disagreeing, just can't fathom why this would be.

In my mind the narrower tire would need to be spread open more at the beads to seat on the same rim. This would flatten the profile of the tire since there should be less tire surface area to span the same rim width. The flatter profile would tend to make the turn in slower, I think. I could see an advantage to a 180 on a 5.5" rim vs. a 190 on a 6" rim but not both tires on a 6" rim.

Works good!
I think I might have a 5.5 rim on the ass end? It was a recommendation by BCM Ducati in Laconia. Dude said its the WAY TO GO! I trust them implicitly. Maybe a higher/more round profile? I don't know. I suppose if I had 180hp, I would need the 190. It does spin up a little quicker on dry, and a lot on the wet.
Try it next time you need a new sneaker! I was very surprised. It even seemed a little more stable, if thats possible.

I think it depends upon the bike. A narrow rim won't react well with a trianglular profile carcass.

180's will turn in sligthly quicker, all things the same. Half of 180 is still smaller than half of 190, no matter how you squeeze it between the beads. Whether or not you like that or like the contact patch in full-lean is another story.

I currently run a 180 DOT race; Corsa Dragon on the rear of my 1k; I get two months good heat, the rest of the year it is suicide. Next tire will be a DOT street 190.

For summer street riding, Azaros,
in spring & fall, I like the Distanzia's also by Avon.
but in winter as soon as I wear out the distanzias that are on my SV now, will ber a set of Pirelli MT60s

Got same setup...BT20 on rear, BT10 on front. The BT20 does slip and slide a lot more than BT10. I almost highsided myself on the last BT20. BT10s are much grippier. I get about 5000 miles from the rear 10s. I get about 8000 miles from rear 20s.

Hum, what to buy next...

Give me your rear tires

I love my Avon AV39 (I forget but hta tnumber sounds right) for the front. It is so sticky even on the street at 40 degrees. For the rear I take whatever I can get my hands on. Mostly jump in dumpsters and put a plug in it.

I will tak any REAR 180 or 190 tire that you have laying around. Even if it has very little tread left or needs a plug. Please help the needy!
