Who we are.......

LAPS was started last year by Mike Arbo and Kevin Buck, two guys who wanted to offer something more than you'll find in the typical track day. Most of us are current or prior racers and over half the instructors currently race in LRRS. All instructors are local with local track knowledge. Some for more than 20 years. And a few have multiple championships.

You've no doubt noticed a few things that we'll do differently if you've been to our website recently.

Here's just a few -

- We have both Michelin and Dunlop tire service at all our events. This tire service provider does not require you to remove the wheels from your bike - they'll do it for you if you 'd like, just wheel your bike over to them and they'll do the rest.

- WE HAVE TEACH! (Chris Mcneil) #1 motorcycle stunt rider in America - #2 in the world will be doing his stunt routine during our lunch breaks - at all 2007 events. His demo video is linked on our homepage for you to check out.

- And for all you racers out there - this is for you: We have Scott Greenwood. Scott is the outright (club) lap record holder at NHIS, and although he doesn't "do" track days, he's agreed to give us one date where he will instruct and reveal some of his secrets. If you want to find out how to get around Loudon fast, don't miss this day. We'll let you know which date he commits to.

- We offer on board video, as well as professional photography.

The point is this:

We're not trying to oust anyone. In fact - I've been to Tony's days, and I'm on his mailing list. Tony runs a good day - no doubt. We just want to offer a track day that's a bit different from the norm. And we haven't lost sight of what's important - track time. You'll be on track at 9am sharp.

The plan is to do some days both here at Loudon and at other tracks. And Degsy - I've already been in touch with Road America and we're working on it - so stay tuned...

Our track day pricing for all NESR members is $189.00 - including our rain insurance guarantee.

Because you shouldn't have to break the bank to go to the track.

...See, I told you we were doing things differently

Can you give us an idea of how the groups would be split? Levels? Number of Riders? Help for the rookies? Etc.

Manny -

The groups will be split in the same way you'd find at any other track day.

On the Registration Form you choose your group (Blue, Yellow, Red) based on your comfort level, and each group has specific passing rules, Blue group having the least restrictive, Yellow being more intermediate, and Red being the most restrictive.

Red group will have dedicated instructors assigned to the group all day to help them with everything from the classroom sessions, to the do's and don'ts, to flags to just getting comfortable being out there. Yellow and Blue groups will have instructors available - but in these groups we won't push the instructing so much - you'll have to seek the instruction and initiate the dialogue with the instructors.

Remember - our focus is not on racing - it's on structured safe riding techniques. So there's no need to worry that you're being taught "how to race", or go so fast that it scares the pants off you.

It's important to not worry so much about outright speed when choosing your appropriate group, just your comfort level with being passed, or passing as the case may be.

Yes, Scott is coming.

We're trying to get him to confirm which date, but we won't have that info to pass along until after this weekend.

Stay tuned.......we'll get it posted here as quickly as possible

85 is the magic number we're targeting.

Why are other organizers more expensive?

(Dangerous question there......)

In the simplist terms, I say this: Each track day organizer has their own pricing structure. Ours happens to be $225.00. We think that's a fair price for a track day, and one that we would be willing to pay ourselves.

Remember, our pricing structure is based around the idea that you shouldn't have to break the bank to enjoy the track for a day with your friends. This goes into everything we do...from the track day pricing to the bodywork we distribute, and everything else we do in between, including having America's number 1 stunt rider perform for you for free during the lunch break.

We offer NESR members an even more discounted rate of $189.00 simply because of the volume of riders we now have access to. Our goal is to fill our dates so we can grow, no doubt, but we don't need to make a killing at each event in the process.

Our pricing structure for 2007 will be $189.00 for NESR members. We do not expect that price to increase next year.

You should join us, who knows, you just might have a blast for less money.

Sign up forms and instructions are available on our website.

We hope to see you there.

What do you mean by "...accomadate all the members equally...or will it get overwhelming.."?
