The way I see it is you came in a little hot, braked hard and upset the bike...then fixated on the pavement near the tire wall. That's when the front end washed out from under you.
You weren't going very fast at all when you decided to take up surfing instead of riding, maybe 20-25mph tops.

Glad to hear you're ok, though. When I asked you if you knew what day it was your response was classic, "I know I have to go to work tomorrow."

Nope. You were not on the brakes anywhere in that sequence....you were, however, way out of shape for coming anywhere near to making that turn.

If I'm not mistaken, did you have a fresh set of Powers put on shortly before that session? I happen to have a photo of what appears to be your bike being looked over by the tire techs. Maybe the tire wasn't scrubbing in on the edges all the way?

Kevin happened to riding directly behind you at the time of the crash and he says he identified that you were unable to hold a line a couple corners before the crash.....were you drinking enough fluids during the day?

Just throwing out some possibles....

it's strange that i remember everything clearly except up to lunch. i dont remember lining up for that session even. the tires were put on before the very first session & were scrubbed so i dont think they were a problem.

I did adjust my clipons more outward sometime before that session so they were probably more sensitive to the touch and maybe i didnt expect it in a pinch.

i thought i was drinking evough fluids, but maybe i was slightly dehydrated. probably a combination of things... those pics are very interesting.

i did have a great time though and i hope to be back together and back out there soon.

yea sweet avatar eh? my head hurts just looking at it.

def a sweet avatar lol hope you are feeling better....sorry i didnt get a chance to meet you before they took you away...

+1 on the heat/water thing...i drank a gallon of water before 2 and continued the whole day and was still dehydrated....i know it had an effect on my riding...i had to cut a couple sessions short and skip the 2nd to last one because of it....was crazy hot....non-perf'd leathers didnt help

Ouch. Well, if you were trying to get your share of crashing out of the way, I'd say you did it. Glad to see you weren't hurt worse, and I hope this doesn't put a damper on your track riding, as it seemed like you were pretty excited to get out there.

Looks like you really slammed your head into that pavement. Not to preach, but consider an arai/shoei/agv/scorpion

i'm already way ahead of ya.

i saw the bone doctor today.

things arent that bad at all.

sprain will heal normally. only problem is that my foot is huuuge

the two shoulder fractures are hairlines and will fuse together normally with some time. all i got was a sling and need to take it easy w/ my right arm for a while.

concussion was by far the worst. i really slammed my head hard & the times i was actually conscious, i was really a mess.

cant wait to go check out my bike later this evening!

I went down on the ice one time with no helmet, kind of a freak accident And slammed my head pretty good, had amnesia (no idea on spelling) for about 3 or 4 days.. That was a freaky experience.. take it easy and make sure you don't do anything to hit your head again til it heals, Anther good hit while your brain is healing from that one could kill you..

Keep an eye on your concussion. I had a similar impact to that same area of my head playing hockey last winter (only grade 1-2). It seemed OK for a couple of days but when I tried to go back and play the following week I had a really hard time with balance and shit. It took months before I felt right again. I'd make sure your back up to par before jumping on the bike.
I'm sure they have told you but the most critical thing for you is to NOT re-injure your head before it has healed completely. It will f*** you up even more and make you an even bigger candidate for Post Concussion Syndrom.

Heal up well.

yea thanks for the head injury info. the doctor said not to hit it again, but it's the kind of thing that needs to be hammered into my head, so to speak.

i've taken the proper precautions by lying in bed and surrounding myself with fluffy pillows. now i just need someone to come keep me company and give my wounds a sensual massage to help with the healing processs

Agreed about the balance issue.

It took me over 6 months to stop having balance issues.

Most notably was when I looked straight up real quick.

Almost fell off a ladder when I looked up quick to change a lightbulb. This was a good 5 months after my concussion.

that's a good question. i was thinking before going out i'd invest in some sort of track or crashing training if that even exists.

the wierd thing is that i've gone down on that shoulder twice before and just rolled onto my back with my head up. that time it looks like my shoulder pivoted me onto my head, slammed it hard, & i was out...
