Here's the latest update obtained moments ago:

I'm hearing that Joel was released from the hospital late last night with a shoulder, ankle, and head injury (concussion).

Phone calls to his parents so far have gone unanswered but I'll continue trying to reach them throughout the day as we are all concerned about his well being.

Strange amount of injuries from such a low speed crash.

yea thats rough hope hes doing alright. the bike didn't look so bad....

i doubt it had anything to do w/ his brakes, i bled them and they weren't rock hard but def firm enough that i had no worries about them.

did anyone see the crash? can you tell me what happened? i still cant remember ANYTHING between PK's suspension seminar at lunch, and meeting the doctor for the FOURTH time at the hospital lol.

things are coming back though & i should be alright.

-very badly sprained ankle where the bike must have gone down hard on it.
-fractured clavacle
-fractured shoulder blade
-level or stage 3 concussion which has been the strangest thing because yesterday is really spotty, but it's coming back together.

i dont know what kind of shape i was in when i wandered back into the pit, but it must have been completely fucked. apparently i was in & out of consciousness at the hospital for a while & then couldnt remember anything for more than 5 minutes.

like i said though, things are coming back & i feel a lot better. i feel like myself today.

my brakes were fine so it couldnt have been that. i was verry happy with them in the first few sessions.

everyone that helped, thanks a million times over!
you dont know how good it felt getting out of the hospital late last night, pulling into NHIS and seeing mi bike trailer and ready to go.

i'd like to know what the hell i was saying after the crash because i know i was a total mess...

i still did have an amazing time though considering. LAPS runs a great show and it was awesome to finally put the faces to the names. thanks again to everybody who helped; i owe you BIG.

i'm still trying to figure out what to do to my bike insurance-wise because i've gotta file some sort of claim for the health insurace coverage. was it in bad shape? i still havent gotten a good look at it.

hey man good to hear you're doing ok....you're bike is in amazingly good shape from what i saw, just some scratches here and there! not bad at all.

your health insurance is making you file a claim on your bike? that seems odd....never heard of that.

Let me help you remember.....

before the crash, you were, how about now?

Glad to hear you are relatively ok, and as always, NHIS always has a great group of people always willing to lend a hand.

nope, still

sorry to disappoint you!

well, i guess because it was a motor vehicle accident, the bike insurance covers the health costs.

Damn - you got me beat, I'm just sitting here with a snapped clavicle.

Pay close attention to the concusion (especially at that level). I wouldn't drink for a good solid week at the minumum. Any dizzyness, nausea, etc - get someone to get you to a doctor. Take it easy, drink lots of water, and take it easy with the pain meds. Probably the same thing the doctor has told you a thousand times.

Glad to hear it wasn't worse, heal up quick...
