Looking like rain on Wednesday

Looks like New England is finally acting like New England.
Rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. When will the rain date be set?
I'd hate to take a day from work and find out up at the track that it's been moved to another work day.

There is no rain date.
If they cancel it you get most of your money back.
Otherwise we ride in the rain...

I'll be damned if I'm trying my first track day ever in the rain.
I guess I'm a pussy.

Yeah its an extra layer of protection between you and the pavement. The rain is actually safer.

In all seriousness, riding the rain is a great way to help you be more smooth. I think the more experienced guys will agree if you are going slower on your first day due to the rain, you will concentrate more on your lines and being smooth which will make you much faster on your first dry day. Don't skip for the rain, it will only help you in the end. Just my .02

I went to pocono a couple of weeks ago and actually looked forward to riding the track in the rain .... mostly b/c it would have slowed the harley guys doing a buell test ride down to normal speeds. I had this one guy passed clean ... he was off throttle and saw me pass got back on the gas and nearly skidded thru the turn off the nascar bank. had it been raining ...........

Riding in the rain is a skill.

I like riding in the rain...

Mike (Trackday Guru) stopped by my pit yesterday and said he would make an announcement on the site when they have a more definate forecast.

It is New England...

What extra stuff do I need to bring for rain besides rain gear?
Squeegie? Rubber ducky?

extra levers and pegs for when you crash j/k Extra dry clothes in case yours get wet.

Looks like Ill be riding the tard on powers. I have rains for the 600 which I was going to ride, but I noticed a hole in the coolant reservoir today when I changed the oil. Oh well, more practice on the tard is fine by me

Riding the rain;

Buy your rains, get your points.

Brake in a straight line.

If you go down it will be a lowside, run, pick the bike up, go like hell, get your points.
