Trackday yesterday

I had a great time with all the N.E. Streetriders that rode the track yesterday.

The morning had a little rain, then the sun poked through and we picked up the pace.

Everyone did very well from our crew, hope you learned a little and had fun on the track.

See you next time!

Hell yeah!

I had a hell of a time as well! It was nice to meet so many great people! Everyone did a great job and no one was seriously injured, which is even better. A huge thank you to Ken and Degsy for putting it all together. I enjoyed myself immensly! Hope to see you all next time!

Trakday yesterday

In the end, I had a great time, even though my first session sucked balls. Funny, after two cheeseburgers, chips, and a Coke, it all changed, and I started to have a serious amount of fun!

A BIG thanks to all the instructors and people who observed and led newbies through the lines!

Soooo, when's the next trackday....?

Funny, I thought the same thing yesterday after everyone left... Let's just sneak in through the woods with a pair of bolt cutters...

I was talking to Teach about it last night. It might be something that gets set up over the winter and goes into action fresh in the spring.

Sounds like another good day. I wish I could have been there for both days.

Degsy and Ken, I take it the zero crash thing didn't work out

I don't think that's a realistic goal when you put 60+ bikes on the track. BCM has done it, but they have a 30 bike limit, and they run the day like a school. Riders are never seperated from their instructors, who set the pace (slow).

after 4 years of participating in Tony's Track Days I have learned not to worry about crash numbers too much. I hate to see anyone get hurt, but there's no way to prevent people from throwing it down the road in an open riding situation.

It's a new and strange environment for a street rider. It's harder to see your own limits.

Paul,

Our goal of having ZERo crashes was crushed, primarily by the rain that swept through in the first coiuple of sessions. Turn 2, as usual, got VERY slick, taking out a couple of otherwise good riders.

We had one crasher in The Bowl (T6) that had Joe Rocket "Highside" gloves on, they're crap. He would up with a nasty-looking broken finger and was our only participant to get a ride to the hospital. His bike was slightly damaged but could've been rideable after tightening a hose clamp @ the radiator.

Thew only crash that took out a bike (permanently) was PK on a brandy-new Triumph loaner. He totaled it, but walked away with nothing more than a face full of dirt. (deserved, I guess.)

Otherwise, the 60 bikes (our set limit) were fairly well controlled, thanks in no small part to my desire to have a much higher ratio of instructors to riders than some "other" track days. I had too much work to do to ride, but am praying I can get to Team Daemon's track day next FRIDAY!
