110 for a CCS license that will have to be paid regardless. If cornerspeed is accredited by CCS it should be honored at loudon as a race school. i would imagine that it would be allowed, as long as they cover flags and all that stuff, and you have Loudon tracktime. I'm sure a rookie race would be required. And the $60....well, you're getting your race license to race, can't complain that they make you enter one. That's a CCS technicality anyways, not LRRS's requirement.

I agree with you 100% just saying a day at the penguin school doesnt stop at the 220.

Well yes actually it does since we are comparing the SCHOOL fees and not the additional CCS/LRRS stuff that goes along with it.

Where are you getting confused? Sure if you show up at Loudon on a Friday to take Penguin and become a 'racer' that weekend it's going to look like this -
Penguin: 220
CCS License: 110
Minimum 1 race entry: 60
TOTAL: $390

If you show up at Loudon on Friday with your Cornerspeed Cert it's going to look like this -
Cornerspeed: 350
CCS License: 110
Race entry: 60
TOTAL: $520

im not one bit confused.. im talking the avg cost of the day.. which seemed to be the issue..

did ya know if i did both 3 track days and at a later date bought a house it would add up to more too?

Ah rright.

Guess I was clarifying since nefarious stated a 'day at penguin doesn't stop at 220'. I guess he was meaning 'a weekend of learning to race at loudon doesn't stop at 220'. I took ONLY Penguin in August of 04 and you bet your ass my day stopped at 220 and no more. That broke the bank as it was Then again perhaps I'm just a friggin idiot since Math was never my strong suit

I must have misread the theme of comparing which day / school was a better value then.

Back on topic?

sure back on topic.

any date works for me. i would gladly take one day on the worse course VIR has to offer followed by a day on its best course. How bad can it really be compared to NHIS?

I think if I were to drop that kinda cash and go all the way down to VIR.. I'd want to ride the 'real' tracks. That thing looks like a big gokart track. 3 days on that thing seems like it would get old quick damn them.. damn them and their scheduling!

I like the sound of option 3, being over a weekend means less time off of work, and 3 trackdays > 2 trackdays, all things being equal. But I would rather run the north course again, that is a blast of a track.

NEWS

I have been on the telephone with Cornerspeed and the VIR people today for A LONG time.

We are going with Option 1.

March 27th (Sunday), South Course
March 28th (Monday) North course.

These two days will be Cornerseed days. They will be running NO NOVICE sessions. In order to do these days you will need to have a race licence OR have completed an accredited school (Code, Star, penguin etc, etc).

The good news is that the cost is going DOWN. The cost for the two days will be APPROXIMATELY as follows:

Race Licensed people: $350
Accredited school grads: $375

If you want to attend and you have no race licence or accredited school, you will HAVE to do the Cornerseed school on saturday March 26th at a cost of $370. The good news is that the Cornerspeed level 1 school is considered by CCS and WERA as an accredited school for a race licence, so you would NOT need to complete Penguin to get an LRRS licence if you complete Cornerspeed level 1. I understand that people will be disappointed about this, but there really is no other way to work it with VIR's tough schedule this year. If you want to go this route, PLEASE EMAIL ME OR PM ME and I will deal with each case on an individual basis and try to help out to make paying for it easier (installment plan, discount or something).

Race licenced people who wish to ride on Saturday, Sunday (south course) and Monday (north course), the cost will be $525 for all three days.

For those who have overpaid, I will be refunding you the difference as soon as I have the finalized prices.

I sincerely hope this works for most people, and I am very sorry if it doesn't work for you. I tried my best.

One more thing. I only have 40 places this year, so sign up asap if you want to attend.

derek

Just to clarify, Degs.

You say that Sun and Mon there will be NO NOVICE SESSIONS.

At the last NETR event, there were three groups. For lack of better terms, let's call them SLOW, MEDIUM, and RACER.

Are you saying there will only be two groups? Medium and Racer, so to speak?
