Just got off the phone w/ him... He just wanted me to inform those that are going to VIR that he's unfortunately no longer able to go. The short of the story is, his wife is Ill and family is more important at this point in time.

Everything else is taken care of, no one else should be affected by this. If you've got any other questions give him a ring.

Beth is going to be in hospital for the next 7-10 days at least. She is getting the very best treatment available and we're hoping for a good outcome.

She will be quite sick (chemotherapy) but she's a fighter and we'll get through this together.

Have a great time at VIR everyone. Sorry I can't make it, but I'll be there next time.

Please, no 'phone calls. My phone is already ringing off the hook as it is and while I do welcome the kind thoughts of everyone, we just need time and space right now.

Thanks again for the well-wishes. My wife has told me that she doesn't mind people knowing the details and I know some of you are concerned.

Long story made very very short.

The joy of finding out that Beth and I were expecting our first child has been cut short by a dangerous complication with the pregnancy. Beth was sent to St. Elizabeth's in Boston when susicions were aroused by an eagle-eyed radiologist at our local hospital.

The suspicions were confirmed at St. Elizabeth's and Beth was immediately admitted on Tuesday. Beth will be on Chemo for a week or so and we are sure to lose the baby (in fact, that's what the chemo is for) to save Beth's life and hopefully to also save her uterus. Obviously, we are devastated at losing the baby, but my thoughts now are for my wife's health and her future happiness.

I just wanted you as my friends to know.

Please keep Beth in your thoughts over the next few days.
