So I don't know what happens for professional photography at these events, but I have gotten my bosses Nikon D1x digital camera

I have a wide angle lense and a telephoto lense.

Erin (my girlfriend) and my buddy Neal will be taking picture all weekend long.

Since i don't know most of you, please take the time to introduce yourself, and show them your bike so that they know who to look for.

All the picture will end up online in full resolution for you to do with what you please.

Just letting everyone know if they are interested

hope ya have a lens longer than 300mm like 500 or 600. unlike NHIS its very tough to get close to any of the corners at VIR. And I was charged 75 or so a day for a badge/vest to get out on the track ( which really didnt help much )

Let me guess... it overheated. Blown head gasket.

Or maybe he just parked it there for convenience

No, I doubt that very much. I hope he's ready to do a head gasket as soon as he gets back. They all need it... especially after overheating once.

It's not that big a job. Get a cometic gasket, remove head, Place head on a flat glass with some lapping compound and make some figure 8s with it to flatten the mating surface, fit new gasket, replace head, adjust valves, go racing.

Of course, removing the head means removing the cam, which is easy, but photos of the orientation of the cam should be taken to ease re-fitting.

The temp did NOT get out of the normal operating range, but it was spitting some water out the ass on the starting grid for the mock race. They spotted it & pulled me from the grid where I proped it up against the wall.... after the race started I jumped back over to move it behind the wall, at which point Lee, the grid marshal told me to fire it up & go out & race. I ended up turning some pretty respectable laps & didn't get lapped till the last lap by some kid on a gsxr 1000.

The next day I did some troubleshooting & it's lookin like a leaky water pump gasket... She was spittin water out of the pump case & would have to drink about 1/2 of the overflow resevoir per session. When the overflow resevoir ran dry it would get to the very top of the normal operating range & spit out the ass end... The oil looks alright, doesn't look like chocolate milk, but i'm gonna give it a full go-through before the first race weekend.

Started the upload of 1500+ photos (4GB) from the North Course

They are all sorted out by rider (low down racing is in one folder)

if you think about complaining about the lack of pictures, or the quality ... buy the professional stuff ... and i'll just remove yours from the site and my HD

the full res. is in the gallery incase you want to print any of them (shutterfly).

Here is the link ... but I wouldn't even bother checking until morning.

http://gallery.saxmanwebs.com/v/album44/album_009/

First two days will be sorted later this week.

Enjoy
