I've noticed a lot of cameras on bikes at trackdays recently. I've yet to see one on a Superbike though. Those brackets that mount to the fuel filler look like they would be a bit too close to the rider on a superbike. Has anyone any experience with this?

The filler on a Ducati Superquids isn't very far forward and the reach to the handlebars is pretty long. I'd hate to dump the cash on it to find out there a better way.

I have a bullet camera mounted on my 1098 and a dvr under my seat. I mounted an external mic in-between the rear mufflers in the undertail. I do bump the camera from time to time and have to re aim it, but it's not a big problem.

What kind of DVR? I'm looking for a good way to store the captured footage from my bullet camera on my 999. I use a tankbag with my Sony Handycam in it, but you know how bulky that can be when you're trying to ride the track.

I bought one of these cheap dvr camcorders on ebay (item # 140134985090)because I broke my Sony camcorder mounting it on the tank mount. A few bumps in about 1 hour cracked the bottom of the case. So I got a bullet cam and this dvr on ebay. It is cheap and resolution is not great, but I wanted to try it out. I will most likely buy the same format camcorder / dvr made by sony of some other quality manufacturer now that I know I like the way it fits under my passenger seat (and I use the term seat losely) and it works well with my bullet cam.

Umm... I have only had the valves adjusted once on the 900ss. It must be Super!

I have a Motocomm DSR-100 setup that I run for my on and offraod adventures. To date, I've only used the helmet cam for offroad stuff, but it comes with 3 mounts including a ball mount that will attach to fairing bolts etc. The DVR unit is the size of an IPod video, and using flash memory for recording. Slick setup for under $300. You can find em' on Ebay cheap.

Choose Motocomm from the landing page, DSR-100 at the bottom. They have some sample footage including helmet footage on a road bike, and track footage with a rear view (crash included with no skipping).

The unit shoots internet standard footage 320x240, not the best, but a dam good option. Check it out.

Putfile - I Like Dirt 12

I shot this offroad stuff with my helmet setup, and it was pouring rain all day to boot. I needed to adjust the focus a bit, which I did on later projects. Some quality lost on upload to google/putfile as well.

Lucky for me the race bike is liquid cooled... Well one of them at least.
