Is it okay to safety wire oil drain bolt to a header pipe? Will this melt the safety wire? I could find no place under my bike to wire it to other than the header? I would love to know before I put the plastics back on my bike

This is how I have mine. Use a hose clamp around the oil filter and safety wire the drain bolt to the hose clamp so that they pull in the tightening direction.

Don't sweat the safety wiring stuff. It takes 10 minutes and we can do it down there. I'll have my drill and safety wiring stuff with me. You bring the beer.

BTW, the exhaust headers will not melt safety wire.

Okay - I will be happy to buy you some beer if you can do it.

I already drilled the fill cap and the drain bolt, and my oil filter came with a ring on it already so it should be fairly simple.

Have good time down there guys. I wish like hell I could go, but missing my daughter's first birthday for a track day would likely end in a very expensive divorce.

Be safe, have fun, and if you have a room right on the track, dont let everyone use your bathroom. Trust me.

I met his wife when she was pregnant and she was hot then. Can't vouch for the kid though.

Let's see a pic of the daughter already.
