Skip all of Jersey, etc.

oreo, Thanks,

This route is certainly worth considering, it looks like it adds and additional 100+ miles but may be worth the piece of mind, reduction in city traffic and hassle factor.

Not to mention his Vin Diesel fast and furious style lane changes, with 63 feet of vehicle, through hartford rush hour, Dollar Bill still cries in his sleep

The ride through PA is pretty nice, too! Up and down mountains, etc.

Re: Best route to VIR???

Yeah I did the 95 route last year. I managed to miss any traffic on the way down but got caught in a 1+ hr jam at 91 N.... really sucked!

I'm going the 84 to 81 route this year. I was planning on taking rt 220 to rt58 once off of 81. Do you guys who have done the 81 route before think thats the best way?

On another note... I heard of a possible BBQ. What is the status on this? Beer?

Re: Best route to VIR???

Our second vehicle took 220 - 58 and almost went crazy because of how long it was.

the RV took rt 6 down and rt 60 back ...both are off 81 and the blue ridge pkwy some AWESOME twisty roads ...wish I had a streetable bike for these!

the TEXAS Steakhouse was our restuarant of choice

Thanks, So I see rt60, then down rt29. That looks pretty good. Only one way to find out. Unless 29 is a mess it seems like a good way. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Best route to VIR???

yeah the elevation changes about 1000' or so and once down in the valley you get back to highway speeds (posted limit is 55 but the truckers are going 65+) all the way to Danville with only a handfull of traffic lights aver 30 ish miles

Re: Best route to VIR???

60 to 29 is good in a car but if you're pulling a trailer and like your transmission the better route is to take 81 to 64, get off at state route 6 and take that to 29.

Re: Best route to VIR???

I had a 35' RV and 24' trailer and had no problems with either road. yeah thinking 6 is better than 60 but 60 is way more fun
