There are weekend trackdays - but remember you will probably lose Friday and/or Monday driving.

I'm interested in going...and I know a couple of others who will be also. But I'll only go if Denno goes.

What, what?

here is the calander: Calabogie Motorsports Park - June 2008

The trackdays are generally run by team pro motion or Pro6 Cycle. Anyone here gone with Pro6 before?

that has potential.

Also interesting is June 30-July 2nd. Falls in the middle of a five week break in the race schedule. The downside is Mon/Tues/Wed. However, that still give Sunday to drive up.

Re: Calabogie

The facts:

The dates: Monday June 30, Tuesday July 1st, and Wednesday July 2nd.

The plan: Drive up Sunday (takes about 8-10 hours, can take 11 if you get stuck in traffic and drive slow). Return Wednesday night (depending on your situation you might stop for the night.

Lodging: Discover Jocko's Beach Resort, a Family Vacation Resort, on Calabogie Lake in Eastern, Ontario I've stayed here and it is decent (has a beach on the lake). Splitting rooms (includes almost a full kitchen and a big room) $50 per person per night with two people/two double beds. You can also rent a whole house that sleeps 6+ people and comes with a screened in porch on the beach and gas BBQ grill. There is also camping at the track.

Track company: Pro 6 Cycle - Welcome - $190 per day. I haven't heard much about these folks. One guy at Calabogie told me they run a good track day, but I can't vouch for them.

The track: Calabogie Motorsports Park - Home

DO NOT WATCH this video - otherwise the above expense and hassle will suddenly seem reasonable

Re: Calabogie

Calabogie is on my to do list this year. I don't know if the above dates are going to work for me....I'm either looking at this May, the above dates, or August.

If you guys are going to go, I would suggest making plans soon. The track days at Calabogie sell out fairly quickly and so do the local hotels.
