Why is that hard to believe at all?

It is your standard fucktard running a redlight and smacking someone, combined with a pedestrian who is probably crossing when it says "DON'T WALK".

I always feel like a dork in Boston waiting for the WALK signal when everyone else is walking all over the street as if cars were made of feathers... but I'd hope it at least gives me a slightly better chance of avoiding shit like this. (I suppose looking both ways helps too)

no you're right it's not - it's just such a perfectly timed freak accident. pretty damn sad and scary.
I searched high and low for a news article related to this, unfortunately cars hitting pedestrians is all to common.

I guess it was just weird the traffic camera would be mounted in a way that you couldn't see the traffic light colors, and the car who rolled over seemed to be coming through that intersection at a fast enough pace to endanger the pedestrian as well.

looks as if it's some sort of traffic cam, it's focused primarily on the intersection, I'd say it's 90%+ real.

Unfucking believable. It's sick but you watch and watch. Looks real. You can see the ped react to the car.

Sounds like something I don't want to watch. Then again after a few weeks I got around to watching Nick Berg's beheading so it can't be much worse than that.

I see/do some pretty intense things at work (ever held a beating heart in your hand?); I don't know why this stuff bothers me so much.

After watching the video again with my wife, she made a good point about the pedestrian. He probably was wearing a headset and was oblivious to the situation at hand. Play it again and pause it prior to the car heading his way. It appears that he doesn't even know the car is headng his way until it's too late.

Oh yeah, that's totally real. I wonder how that guy did, too. He'd be lucky to survive that one. Looks like that PT Cruiser ran the light (everyone else was stopped) and caused the accident. I wish the video was a bit longer to see if the pedestrian moved around at all afterwards (he doesn't in the split second before the video ends).

I was hit by a car in college while crossing the street by a Subaru station wagon doing like 35 miles per hour. I did a flip in the air, cracked in their windshield, landed on my feet (!), stumbled to the side of the road and collapsed in a snowbank.

I was only off my feet for a few weeks, so who knows, maybe this guy made out alright.

He was probably listening to his Ipod.

People should really pay attention versus blasting music into their ears. Assholes.
