highsider's good deed for the decadeSo, this weekend I did some charity... My wife and I were on a trail ride (on horseback - we have a bunch of hay-burning, money wasting beasts), and we were on our way home, down the side of a very wooded mountain (logging trails). I was riding along, laughing at my wife as she fought with her horse, when something pink caught my eye. I was like, what the fuck is in the woods that it pink? My trusty steed Baron and I jumped off the trail and walked about 15-20 feet through the woods, and behind a big rock was.....a Yamaha Blaster with a pink tank. I was like, wtf is this thing doing sitting here? It was all dirty and nasty, and looked like it had been sitting for a while. So, we rode home, and I called our local (Hinesburg) PD, and asked them if there had been any SUPREMELY UGLY Yamaha Blasters stolen lately, and they said one matching that description had been stolen from someone local. The police asked if I'd show them where it was, so we hiked up in the damn woods (couldn't talk the cop into a horseback ride), grabbed the stupid thing which was, of course, out of gas and wouldn't run, and pushed it to the road so a wrecker could come and grab it. I felt a little goofy when the wrecker came, it wqas kinda embarrasing - cop car with lights on, wrecker with lights on, and three people - me, the cop, and the wrecker driver - wonder what that looked like.... There. Now I can be a total prick for another ten years.   |
