I know I'm not a huge contributer to this board anymore (not having a bike and all), but I do lurk here a lot. I used to really like that I could read thru all the goofy and lighthearted/entertaining stuff in OT, but now I have to wade thru all the abject partisan political assholery, and frankly it sucks.

so, could we maybe have the controversy forum back? Or maybe just a political forum?

Just don't click on the political stuff... imo anyway... shutting down CT didn't do too much in the end.... but i agree, bring it back, and at the very least, all the bs can be in one place so those don't care for that sort of thing can just ignore the whole forum all together...

honestly, even if myself and a few other political "bigwigs" were banned, it would still surface, as it does on every other board. so it's really a matter of moderation, and i don't think jay or degs need/want to be burdened with the bs task of seriously moderating discussions.

i will say this though, so far, even though the political arguments have gotten heated, i have YET to see it reduce to flat out name calling. to this, i applaud all participants.

my point exactly joe. When it was all in one place, I could easily ignore the whole lot. Also we could move topics there if people politicized them. It was sort of a good way to isolate the whole shebang without trying to resort to baninating people (which, BTW, I never even suggested)
