That law is actually fairly common, although I've never heard of anyone actually pursuing such a suit. Its possible that if your friend has homeowner's or renter's insurance, they will pay for his defense.

Funny you post that....I was talking to my husband yesterday while "HE" stopped on Dr. Phil show (talking about spouses who meet and cheat with other people from on the web) saying that it is amazing to see the number of divorces occuring (what...over 50% of marriages end up in a divorce?). When you get married, they have you PROMISE you will love, cherish, honor bla bla bla to the BETTER and WORSE, in life and death. So what is it? People lie when they get married? They don't really follow thru with their promise if the shit hit the fan after a while in their marriage? Why is it that people still go to church everyday and get married, make VOWS and PROMISES that in many cases they will not respect? Empty promises. Marriage goes wrong, no big deal, I'll go cheat on my partner. Life is good as long as you don't get caught. It's easier to do this, than try and work it out with your partner. People give up too fast on marriage now. People are not willing to work things out anymore. Divorce is the easy solution. There is very good reasons sometimes for a divorce, but what I'm saying is that often people divorce before even trying to make things work. So many issues can be fixed and worked thru togueter, yet people prefer to just let go and not do anything about it.
