Well, I'm "lucky" enough to live in a fairly nice neighborhood, but still...this is crazy stuff. No wonder I keep the cord tight for my daughters. I've had one of my daughter's friend mother say to her daughter, in front of my daughter "her mom is so different from me! She is too strict!" WTF? She let her daughter run up and down the street on her bicycle without being outside keeping an eye on her. She seems to be playing "piano" all the time and forget that she has young kids to watch over when they are outside. You bet I am different, I don't allow my kids to wonder the streets. We have a playground in the backyard, it is fenced, and I keep an eye on her at all times. I don't let my 5 yrs old youngest daughter go outside without me EVER. ANd my 9 yrs old is NOT allowed to stay in the frontyard alone, only when I'm outside with her. It could be different if we were living in the country, my kids would have more freedom, but it is not the case.
