Considering the fact that my 3 year old Shoei has been dropped, scratched, and stinks from head sweat, I decided to buy a replacement helmet. I ended up getting the Scorpion EXO-400. I also bought a SKid Lid for poking around Newport, but it was on backorder and hasn't arrived yet.
That is the helmet I bought. I dig flat black.
Anyway, a little while ago, I was set on buying another Shoei. The RF900 was a decent helmet. It was a little expensive, but protecting your head is worth cost, so I thought. But after reading that helmet article in Motorcyclist last month, I realized that the best helmets aren't necessarily the most expensive. So I decided to look at other helmets besides Arai and Shoei. Eventually I found out about Scorpion line.
For $129, this helmet rocks! The fit is very good, and wind noise is minimal. It comes with an anti fog shield that is reportedly scratch resistent. It also has decent ventilation inside. It is both DOT and Snell 2000 approved. Oh, and it's also water resistent, or something along those lines.
