Different Perspective on Katrina

So no one noticed cause a few hundred people have died in the US due to a major natural disaster the last few days.

Those freaks in the middle east have us all outdone! In Iraq today a crowd trampled 841 people to death at a religious protest! WTF!

You know what? Yeah, I haven't heard of any other country offering any help. Guess they think since the US is the all mighty powerful we don't need any help...

We dug our own hole, time to lay in it.

Not receiving any help will be the punishment we get for being cocky assholes in the minds of the rest of the world.

wow! you have guts but i think you're right. if i act like im all tough high and mighty, no ones gonna want to help me. i think it's like this. if you'v done something valuable then you did one very bad thing, all that good stuff is lost.

We don't need the help. We have the most resources on tap. People gotta stop whining about paying $3 a gallon, that's all.

It is absolutely nothing but amazing to me that our country can suffer such a natural disaster that will ultimately affect us all but you still have people who just can't wait to bash America for something.

This statement is so naive that I won't even bother retorting except to say that it's very sad.

Oh, and Germany and Austraila have stepped up to offer us aid.

I wasn't trying to start a fight... just trying to point out how nuts it is that a religious protest in Iraq could manage to kill as many or more people then a natural disaster here.

That is about the single dumbest statement I have ever read on this board!!!! As many of our members can attest to, I have responded to many statements posted here, but this one jumps right to the top in terms of it's foolishness!

Looks like I misunderstood, there wasn't even a protest.

It was just a procession as part of a ceremony!

which then had a bombscare, resulting in thousands running accross a bridge ...

talking about the stupidity of some people ... the best and worst has come out of people after this event. Even people around me, their response to this event (hurricane) has shown me their true side, and makes me question the type of person they are

the hurricane will end up taking way more lives than the bridge incident in Iraq when its all said and done.

And while Im glad people have an opinion, it still surprises me how often people who have no clue what they are talking about will make stupid comments
