Michelin!

Just got my refund for the 2005 US Grand Prix in the mail today...

Full refund of the tickets courtesy of Michelin.

With a surpise bonus! Send the refund for my 2 tickets back to them and get 4 free tickets to the 2006 GP!

Very cool of them, at least one of the companies involved cared about the fans!

Not sure if I'm going to do it but I probably will...

Tammy and I will be going to Indy this year.

After five years of Montreal F1, it's time for a change.

ummm, I see to reflect that the tires named Michelin had problems detected just before the race and the teams weren't allowed to switch.

Having been there I still blame the whole mess on the FIA for their retarded rules.

They had the same problems that Goodyear had and Firestone had with the new Indy surface.

Goodyear cancelled the test and built new tires. Probelm solved.

Firestone is owned by Bridgestone and also cancelled a IRL test before coming back with newly constructed rubber. This new info was then given to Bridgestone who built correct tires for the race.

Michelin was not allowed to test there - no F1 team was - and arrived with tires that ran into the same problems as the others. New tires of Barcelona spec were flown in, but the FIA would not allow their use.

So - they should have allowed the tires which they knew after Friday practice would not last to run? In the Land of Liability known as the USA??

The FIA should have allowed tire changes, or the new spec rubber to be run. Their thick heads could not comprehend what needed to be done.

However, if Ferrari needed a fix.......

If ferrari had needed a fix they would have paved in a new series of corners overnight.
