Bummer... No chance for Appeal

So I had a hearing today for an "unsafe lane change" ticket I received a while back. Had a good argument & a chance for dismissal, but traffic was RETARDED while trying to get there... On top of that, they were doing construction in the area of the courthouse and there were NO STREET SIGNS! so that caused me to be even later since i couldn't find the damn place.

Ended up gettin there 45 minutes late but when they called my name, I wasn't there, I was "found responsible by default" w/ no chance to appeal.

Super pissed.... it shoulda gotten thrown out.

On top of that, I JUST paid a ticket i got in NH last month... SHITTAY

I hope that's not an omen for the one I'm fighting. Well, actually, I WAS doing 69 in a 45, but if the Super Trooper doesn't show....

Jeez, for someone who constantly preaches law abiding operation of his/her motor vehicle, it sure sounds like you have problems staying "safe" on public roadways.

45 minutes late too? Does the word "Responsibility" even exist in your vocab?

Brian

are you sure you really pissed?

picture a cop handing you, not just some punk bastard, a ticket again with no uniform on, maybe just underwear. you're a very mature and responsible person. your'e the exception who got caught in the fish net. so he's just another person making your life miserable. of course if you make a lot of money then it wouldn't matter.

Pete, you sound like me(no tickets in 6 years, then two this year, one in MA, one in NH). Got a ticket in NH in July, 50 in a 30 on a group ride. Only person outta the group who got nabbed, damnit.

Requested a hearing. Got a date. Filed for a continuance at the end of November a while back.

Sent a nice letter offering to pay the fine amount to any local charity or community benefit program of the cheif of police's choice as a registerd certified signature balh blah letter. Got a call from the cop a week later.

"Why don't you just write an apoligy and we'll remove the ticket from your record as long as you don't get another one for a year"

Ok Maam, thank you!

Got another ticket in Wellesly (asshole cop this time, not nice at all) in my gf's car. Haven't gotten the court date yet. Gunna kill them with technicalities and paperwork

I've been doin mah homework.

BASTID!!! . See, that's what i was goin for... either a dismissal outright because of a paperwork issue, or, if they didn't go for that, a donation of the same amount or somethin. Unfortunately i didn't even get a chance to ask for it & it's a done deal now

Clay, sweet to hear on the NH ticket, showing you are going to fight the ticket worked, that is awesome. Now don't be going 50 again in a 30...
