Job Search advice?

I have my eye wondering around for "New Horizons" I need a change.. I updated my resume, and even had a Pro check it out and make it look very professional!!!

Now where are all good sites to find jobs.

I am registered and listed with Monster & Job Find.
Anywhere else I should look?

Also as far as Head hunters, should I consider this route to further advace my search or is that a waste and going to cost me $ ??

My search is going to be for work in the Central Mass mainly. I am thinking of moving outside of Worcester on the western side. Pretty much any location in between Springfield and Marlboro area, plus anything north to south of worcester up to 50 miles away.

A headhunter will not cost you any money. That's a good route to consider. They do all the legwork for you. If interested, I know one.

Wow, that's like MySpace... only you can search for a completely different kind of job.

My experience back ground involed- Manufacturing/Warehousing/shipping/ Site manager over seeing as well as actually doing the work for installation and repairs on High voltage Gas insulated power lines.

Ideally I am looking in these general area's.

Managment / supervisory postion Utilities/Manafacturing/Service work.

Other possibilies will be considered in other fields! I am open minded. Plus $ talks!

Except for military manufacturing is dieing in the USA so get out if you can.

If you can not use your experience directly. That is move to a job almost identical or 1 notch up. You should be welcome to the idea of dropping a notch in salary etc. if you move to a whole different field.

I mean even ME where you are to an ME making something else somewhere else.

When people say experienced in the techinical area they really mean to buy the intellectual property and secrets of your current employer not your smiling ability.

Be open to other opportunities and talk to everyone that you love your current job but feel a change would be good. Your current employer is wonderful. If you get an interview with a competitor then make sure that they don't have you in there just to ask about the condition of your current employer.

There was a famous Bastard in Mount Vernon NY who would promise a poor shlep a job, debrief him about his current employer then blab everything at the "club". Many a head would roll out the door to unemployment.

Good luck and be afraid
