Anyone hear about this? A guy got banned from Home Depot for a year for shoplifting a pencil.

I thought it was a riot.... but the kicker is, I know Scott Jordan, the guy that stopped him... I used to work with him... and he's gettin SHIT on cuz he did his job the way his supervisor told him. The part they don't tell you about is that he got his ass chewed out like two days before cuz he stopped someone who put a .99 cent pipe part in his pocket, he made the guy return it, then let him go instead of reporting him to his supervisor to be detained.... Not only that, but he's a Soldier in the Army & did a tour in Iraq... he was in Fahlujia when the shit was REALLY goin down.

But other than that, I think it's pretty funny.

pencil? Its not even clear if it was from the register or one of the contractor ones for sale..............

Seems silly since the pencil could turn out to be NOT Home Depots........

Stealing a 5 cent nut or a $200 bit is stealing. So for the purist, if the pencil was a for sale item and 60 cents. He stole.
If it was off the contractors desk........... maybe not a theft.

When I bring my disposable cameras at Stop n Shop to be processed, I always borrow a pen from the cashier's desk because they're too stupid to attach pens at the counter for people to fill out the forms. I ALWAYS put back the pen.
