fwiw...I'm putting on a bike race....in Providence, RI

Ok...

-As some of you may know I'm promoting the 2005 and 2006 US National
Cyclocross Championships in Providence, RI. As of right now we have
one thousand five hundred and fifty five (1555) registered riders for
the 3 days of racing. It is going to be quite the party especially
since I signed Harpoon as my BEER GARDEN sponsor. So if any of you are
looking for something to check out next weekend (12/9-12/12) please come on down to
Roger Williams Park (near the Zoo) Exit 17 (about 1 hr. from
Wellesley). My suggestion would be to be there either Saturday or
Sunday afternoon (1-4) for the Elite Races. Below is the link for more
information or shoot me an email.

Just a suggestion...

as someone that has no idea what cyclocross is... some photos on that website would be helpful.

Good point..

this is what happens when you get too close.

Thanks...we will take care of it.

Here is a brief description-

"Cyclo-cross is a hybrid of road and off-road cycling. Cyclists compete on a tightly woven course for a timed period, ranging from 30 to 60 minutes. Designed with hurdles and steep slopes, courses force racers to dismount their bikes and run for short sections on the course. These compact courses create fan friendly race venues, with spectators able to watch nearly all of the racing action. And racers compete regardless of weather conditions. " In other words...people race until they cough out a lung.

I'm planning on being there.

Guys this is the supermoto of bicycling... very fun to watch.

Almost guaranteed to see some broken collarbones too if you're into watching people be stupid.

I'm not racing, I don't even have a cross bike.

I'm just going to hang out and take pictures.

We (Boston Road Club) are apparently going to have a tent so I'm sure I'll be there part of the time.

Hi Ben-
Thanks for coming down to check it out and suffering with the rest of us.. Your pics are great. We ended up with over 1700 registered riders despite the weather...phew....I'm glad it's over.
