If you're looking for a low price, but not of the highest quality, I think Newegg has one for $3.99 after rebate:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&CMP=BAC-tbcpc

And if I'm not mistaken, I think bestbuy has the linksys one with a $30 mail in rebate (so the final price is $40).

Also buy.com has a netgear one for $30
http://www.buy.com/prod/Netgear_Wire...tml?adid=17662

And compusa has one for $30

If you search the internet enough, I'm sure you can find what you're looking for and how to get it to work.

I do computers for a living. If your going wireless I would suggest the Linksys WRT54GS.

Also make sure that you at the very least use the WEP encryption. If you really want to ensure that your network is secure I would reccomend disabling the SSID broadcast and using mac address filtering so that only computers you designate can access your router.

And the final thing make sure that whatever router you get you change its default name and password. youd be surprised how many people I can get in with just the standard admin password.

Don't forget to change the fluid in your wireless antennas once a year.

It's a good idea to change it right now cause it's the start of a new year. Make it a habit to do it each year at the same time and you won't forget.

The Linksys would probably be the easiest to setup and get help with.

Most companies and ISPs provide "free support" for the Linksys. What I mean by that is: the Linksys is probably the most bought consumer wireless router out there, so they've already put together FAQs on how to configure it to use with their networks.

I've never been a fan of their products... and I don't need support... so I've got all Netgear equipment at home. I setup my Netgear stuff and I can pretty much forget about it.

netgear = less support, less user friendly, but rock solid and plenty of advanced features

linksys = user friendly, more support, but less advanced administrative functions

any other brand = stay away

I had a DLINK and it was constantly rebooting and dropping connection

Do you have any idea how hard it is to plug in cat 5 cable? Then you have to put the disc in the cd rom tray and hit enter a couple times.
