I haven't bothered to do it but you can punch in a route for a ride and then share it with people.

Somebody in my bicycling club has done most of the common club rides.. pretty nuts.

I actually think I prefer to just go for a ride and see where I end up.

When I first downloaded it 3 or 4 months ago, i musta spent 5 hours doing searches. Some cool shit, except some areas are real blurry (the dark green stuff)

if you think google earth is cool, check out Local.live.com

Once you get the address in and get the map click on the birds eye view icon. Then zoom in and start playing wiht the NWSE icon. Very cool

On Google Earth ,, is there a way to get a clearer pic ,,,,like maybe an update type deal ??? I went looking for Deals Gap and found that it was blury ! I couldn't get close at all . Nothing like Pete's pic above.
Same deal when I went looking for the Blue Ridge ?? I'm going there in May and I wanted to look around a bit ,,,,,,
Local Live has cool pics ,,,mostly of citys and the like . Maybe i'm not doing something right on Google ???????
On both i can see my house just fine ??? Maybe State Parks,,, Federal type things must be ,,,, blured ???

ditto that... local live blows google earth out of the water in some areas.

in one of the satellite views on local live, you can see that i'm in the middle of mowing my yard.

I discovered that I live near a small, extinct and ancient volcano using google earth. You can see the crater plain as day by searching for Pawtuckaway State Park and then viewing from an eye altitude of 15 to 40 miles. It is slightly north and west of Pawtuckaway Lake.

There's a big volcanic crater just north of Winnipesaukee that makes up the Ossipee Mountains. The Belknap mountains (Gunstock Ski area) and Rattlesnake and Diamond Islands on Winnipesaukee form another good sized, but less obvious crater on the south side of the lake. Very cool, IMO... You can see them both from about 40 miles over the center of Winnipesaukee.
