Anyone that's interested in joining a gym in the greater burlington area should check out Planet Fitness in S. Burlington (Inudstrial park next to Burton). It's a $40 start up fee, then 15.70 (including tax) a month....lots of equipment too. No pool or hot tub, but at 15 a month, DAMN!

The planet fitness I go to is $15 now but I signed on at $10/month ($29/join fee). Good and cheap. After they changed their name to Planet Fitness from World they upgraded most of the equipment.

If you pay $24K a year to be an out of state student at UMass Lowell, you get to use the gym for free!

Check with your health insurance, lots of them will reimburse you $150/yr for gym memberships.

You just get a note from your gym each year around tax time.

Try working out at home. That's when you need serious motivation.

Yah, i've got a bench and free weights at home, but it was way to easy to not do anything or to breeze through a workout and not gain anything from it. Having friends to go to the gym with helps alot too.

Planet Fitness has great rates and kickin hours, but if you plan on doing any serious lifting, you may want to look into other gyms. I have a membership here (it was an extra $1/month after I bought my sister a membership for her college graduation last summer), but I only go because it's convenient the days that I go from work to school (I have two hours between and it's right in the middle).

I hate trying to lift heavy and hard, all while trying not to exhale too loudly or let the bar hit the floor too hard. Deadlifts or Olympic lifts? Forget about it.

I realize about 99% of the population won't care about this, but if you do go to the gym to move as much metal as possible, PF is not for you.
