Those of you with kids...

My little girl has been sick with fever since Sunday afternoon (ranging from 100 to 103 degrees). She sneeze, she cought, watery eyes, sometimes she's better, sometimes she's miserable. Sometimes it hurts in her belly, and she said that her legs hurt last night when she was sleeping. I'm bringing her to the doc today. Anyone else have had their children with some type of bug lately? Did it last for so many days (specially the fever??)

I get real concerned with belly pain and fever ... usually sign of appendicitis. My granddaughter has been sick a lot this spring but is usually the ear infection thing, runs on that side of the family.

Keep her hydrated and let the doc do the diagnosis, as far as I know we don't have any MD's as members.

There is a nasty bug going around my office where the adults are out for 3 to 5 days. I have not caught it yet ...

Doctor, Now!! That sounds like the symptoms I had when my appendix burst, and I also went almot a week without surgery. Even if it isn't that, you may find out what it is. The belly and leg pain scares me. If you want, before you get to the doctor, lay her flat on the floor or her bed, and touch the bottom of her right foot near the heel. If she screams in pain, it is appendicits and get her to the hosptial, stat! If not, don't rule it out.

yea without a doubt, fever, leg pain, stomach pain, get her to the doctors real soon. Apply pressure to the four corners of her stomach and see if there's any pain or if it is hard. She'll be screaming if she has appendicitis.

Back from the Doc...she told me my daughter got the Flu....and not that "stomach bug" everyone calls the "flu" (it's gastroenteritis, not flu) Her stomach doesn't hurt today, but her muscles seems to be what bothers her, and her fever too. No vomiting, no diarhea since she started the symptoms on Sunday....just fever, muscles pain, coughing, and LOTS of sneezing to top it all off, she is VERY sensitive with allergies when spring/fall season is here. SHe is so miserable today, she was literally crying this morning with sadness because the little dog wouldn't play with her. She doesn't cry for things like that usually. I have to give her Tylenol AND Motrin in alternance every 3 hours until she feels better...no school for my little miss this week, she's gonna stay home with mommy!

viruses suck, nothing you can do but wait until your body fights it off, oranges and citrus fruit will help a little

Glad to hear that you were able to get her to the Doctor's so fast. Here in Southern NH (Peterborough), there's been a TON of fever, aches, stuffiness, and cough over the last few weeks. The fever/aches/stomach stuff has gone away in about 5 days with the stuffy nose lasting a few more days and a cough out to about two weeks.

It sounds like plenty of liquids and a Disney movie are in order!

She's been sleeping for 3 hours straight this afternoon. She ate a little bit of oatmeal, a small piece of apple and I have her drink 100% juice, water or milk. I just got her 100% fruit popsicles. She's been VERY quiet all day, and it makes me so sad to look at her little face, her eyes are red, with dark circles all around them.
