Dhuze, I understand about transporting through Mass. You need them locked up.
I meant more that fact that out of staters cant bring their pistols in to state to shoot with out a outof state pistol permit which is a huge pain in the ass. Lots of debates have raged on this but as I found out most town cops have no idea what the law even is and I dont want to be Barney's test case.

In the US you do not need a licence in a particular state in order to be able to transport through that state in two conditions.

1.) The must be properly locked up, unloaded and out of reach.

2.) You must have a licence in both the state of origin and your destination.

So dhuze if you have a licence in RI just apply for one in NH. Its 20 bucks and takes about 2 weeks to get. Just fill out the form, send them a copy of the RI Licence and a check for 20 bucks.

You do not need a license to transport to or through another state for sporting purposes. R.I. nor N.H. have a license to posess a firearm. Therefore I am not required to "purchase" one to shoot in another state. Some states, like Mass, require a resident to have a license to posess or purchase one. I can drive into Mass, or through, with a firearm as long as I am going to use it for sporting purposes.

Yes. Federal law provides a person, who is not prohibited by the GCA from receiving or transporting firearms, the right to transport a firearm under certain conditions, notwithstanding state or local law to the contrary. The firearms must be unloaded and in a locked trunk or, in a vehicle lacking a trunk, in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console. Also, the carrying and possession must be lawful at the place of origin and destination. [18 U. S. C. 926A, 27 CFR 178.38] 9

Mass is the only state I know of where you need a permit/license/what ever you want to call it to own long guns/bb guns/pop guns.
They are pretty much fucked up when it comes to gun laws.

Why Doesn't everybody have a grenade launcher? How else can you launce grenades at your friends?
