Man. Life is fucked.
You know that crane that fell in Boston today? Well Amanda's night class was cancelled tonight, she's taking one at Emerson.

What's messed up is the car that was crushed and the guy died instantly... that's exactly where I park every week and wait for her. I'm normally there for 20-30 minutes reading / waiting. I park literally RIGHT where the thing fell. The Civic was on the street in
the lane, I park next to it. I can tell because a section of the sidewalk is boarded off in front of the construction building, and I back my truck up right to that spot (hydrant and shit right there so parking 'spot' is always open, since it's not legal).

If that crane had waited 7 hours to fall, I'd be dead.
Just weird.

If that crane fell a month ago I was up there and I would be dead too

I hate it when peole think they were almost killed because they "might" have been there. You weren't there, you weren't planning on being there so you were NEVER almost dead.

That's why these accidents get everyone stirred up. Because it makes you think about your own mortality when you can relate or think about how it could have been you.

If anyone is interested boston.com has bio's of the three people that were killed on the front page.

7 hours later the scaffolding would have been successfully dismantled and/or secured for the night?

This whole thing is so f*cked up, hopefully they start getting a brain about closing down traffic while this kind of work is being done.

On Fox news last night they talked to the car in front and the one behind the one that got crushed and the guy died. Oddly, the two were friends and following each other when the car cut between them....now, imagine the what if's those two guys are thinking???????

BMW should do one of their "accident avoidance" commercials about this.

There was a guy interviewed who managed to maneuver his BMW out of the mess while it was happening, he ended up with a smashed rear windshield & roof but no injuries.
