Resistorless Spark Plugs...It's true, I just got 'em for my boat. I've never run 'em before, but I recently noticed that the manual calls for these plugs in sustained high speed use conditions. Not that my boat is actually capable of high speeds, but I do run in WFO when I run it. For the gap setting, the manual just said "...permanent gap...". It wasn't till I picked 'em up that I realized there's no friggin' resistor! Any one ever need/use these? ![]() |

Resistorless Spark Plugs...I can't believe what a difference these plugs made! We were seriously condsidering a new boat this year 'cuz our ol' beast just felt like it was getting too tired. We really thought it was on it's last leg and it was just a matter of time 'til the thing died on us. That was until I put it in the water yesterday with these new plugs! The thing is running like a champ now! So good in fact, that we're now seriously reconsidering getting a new one. We may even wait a coupla more years if this thing's gonna run this good for us... I don't know how many vehicles could use these, but if you have something that calls for 'em as an alternate, I highly suggest 'em. They are the NUTZ... |

Resistorless Spark Plugs...It's been a while since I've seen them. Resistor plugs, make the coil work harder, plus it works with the resistor wires, not to allow any RF to interfere with any type of Computer/ECU, or radio! The boat doesn't have any of these so run on! Unless you have EFI on the engine....Could give you problems Gap is usually around .028 to .035" |

Resistorless Spark Plugs...you mean there is no ground strap. just the electrode post in the middle? I think you are being confused about the term "resisitor" there are plugs that have an internal resistance built into them. What the end of the plug looks like doesn't have anything to do with the resistance of the plug. You had me going there for a minute...LOL! |

Resistorless Spark Plugs...The cross reference book specifically says NO RESISTOR. You're right, there's no ground strap. And the electrode is no bigger than a pin head, ya pin head.... ![]() Seriously, that's what it says. I only have the basics on the boat, no radio or other shit like that. I have a depth/fish finder, but I hardly use it 'cuz I know our lake. But these things DO run like the nutz. I STILL can't believe they made such a difference... |

Resistorless Spark Plugs...I can't say enough what a difference they made. Really, they make it run like a new boat. We were pretty much set on getting a new boat this year, maybe over the winter. But with the way it's running now, we'll be holding off for at least another year, possibly two... |

Resistorless Spark Plugs...Do you have contact breaker point ignition on that boat? if so, definitely change the points and dizzy cap. If the motor runs this great again on new plugs you are probably masking another ignition problem that WILL come back. Points take 30 mminutes to fit and will make a world of difference. derek |
