This week has been a crazy week with car woe's and more stress at work than I care to talk about. Last night, was certainly a welcome change to the negative undertow of days prior. Needless to say the last 12 hours have been very interesting. I was at the Lamborghini Boston grand opening last night on behalf of Enjoy the Track. This was an invitation only event with Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford from Aerosmith. They were on hand to help with the festivities and bring a bit of celebrity status to the event. Brad took delivery of his new 06 Gallardo coupe for all to see. It was yellow with black. 6 speed.

After the ribbon cutting event the opportunity presented itself to speak with Brad. What I thought was going to be a quick conversation turned into an hour long visit with him. Mr. Whitford was wearing a Ducati Polo shirt so naturally I spark up the conversation with Motorcycles and racing. We went back and forth about the Italian makes and how has enjoyed many Ducati's and Aprilia's but is now riding Harley's. As we talked about racing he was eager to share in his accomplishments as a Formula Ford SCCA driver, PCA, BMWCCA, and EMRA racer.

Talking about our track day I asked him if he would like to instruct with us. Apparently, I was the first person to ever ask him if he would like to become an instructor. His eyes lit up! He immediately asked for our information and said that he would love to do it. I thought it might have been a blow off move but he was serious and went with me to find pen and paper. I also found out the Brad is very familiar with my home town. He shared stories of summers spent at Swains lake, Ayers lake and Bow lake all in the Strafford / Barrington area. The details were so specific that he knows where my Mom lives and is familiar with Round Pond, the Reservoir and both Pond Hill and First Crown Point roads. He brought up the area and the things he remembers from his childhood. (not bad considering the amount of damage this guy has done to himself over the years.) It was truly amazing and I hope he can teach with us in October. To see his excitement and his reaction when I asked him was very cool.

This morning I was on the pike on my way in to work and a large tanker truck flipped on it's side right in front of me. I was able to slow in time, and make it off the highway before anything bad happened. I have been listening to the radio and from what the reports have been saying, the truck has Liquid Methane in the tank and is leaking. I dunno what the status of the clean up is, but I can only imagine its not good.

I'd rather be alive and cool than dead and un-cool.

You better not have caused that thing to flip

That sucks. I was travelling to CT, and never made it because I couldn't find my way back on the f'n Pike. Kind of glad I didn't make it, the news is saying they're "hoping" to open the sections of the pike by rush hour, and I would have been in traffic coming back too.

It's 9:00 and I just got home from New York and the Mass pike is still backed up past I-84. I made an illegal U-Turn and took rt 20 and that was backed up so I just meandered over back roads until I got somewhere. I used my GPS but had to use my discretion since it kept trying to put me back on 20 and 90.
