At least it was heavy sheet metal . just no zink . CV joints
thats so girls can drive them .
More cars then trucks . my old chevy was a good truck the rust took more a few years to set in . It made 30 years . 45 motors 55 tranys & 5 rear ends.. But i beat the dog snot out of it . but nothing beats the old fords next dodge last chevy ...... FORD made one stout truck ..... All the old 4WDs, dodge made them . IE New process transfers cases & dana rears & fronts ends.
They where WW11, 2 1/2 ton stock ....
The old power wagons . With rockwells had a few flaws also .
But they where TRUCKS ........ I wish I still had my Chevy ..
BTW WTF do you know you was a twinkle in 68

Truck upgrades


ha maybe a twinkle then but 24 years later i knew a good truck when i saw it.

i agree on the drivetrains of early ford/dodge being very strong but no one makes a v8 like the general! well cept maybe that hemi thing...

old hemis where race only


just like the 340s race motor have no place in a truck unless its a race track low end grunt is what ya want the blue flames where good truck motors 1600 rpms torque curve
