Pussification of American drivers

I took my car in for inspection this morning.

Guy takes my keys, registration and goes out to the car.

2 minutes later he comes back in.

"Sorry there is a problem."

"What's up?"

"I can't drive stick, I'm going to have to find someone to move the car."

How on earth you can get a job as a mechanic/inspector and not drive manual transmission is beyond me. It takes less then an hour to learn enough to move cars in and out of the service bay.

I ran into this with a valet at a restaurant. I had to park my own car. Took a space right up front... The real funny thing was when I had to go back out to get my car after dinner he looked pissed when I didn't tip him... Here's a tip - learn to drive stick...

I recently bought a Toyota Matrix and had a miserable time finding a manual transmission car. Turns out only 4% of Matrixs (matrices???) are made with a stick. It's not just America either, Automatics are growing in popularity in other places as well. You see tons of them in Asia now. Still not popular in Europe though.

I still have yet to see an auto transmission that doesn't do stupid things like downshift in the middle of a corner exit as you feed in the gas... very dumb.

Hopefully CVTs and DSG/SMG type transmissions will save us from a market 100% full of slushboxes.

Autos are for women. Not specifically in the physical sense, just people who are women. I wish Caddies came in stick. I mean the BIG ones. I'd drive it.

I love the ricers that get on the gas only to let the tranny do the work. FAGS. YES, YOUR ECLIPSE/CIVIC/MITSUWHATEVER SUCKS MY ASS AND YOU JUST GOT YOUR ASS HANDED TO YOU BY A STOCK COMPACT PICKUP TRUCK, NOW GO KILL YOURSELF AND WE'LL PUT YELLOW DECALS ON YOUR GRAVESTONE AND "SLAM IT" TILL MY DOG SHITS ON IT THINKING IT'S A FLOOR TILE.

I fucking hate ricers.
