Off to London...

Sadly, this goes in off topic as my girlfriend has *not* procured me a motorcycle to ride for the weekend Despite my protests that I could ride as fast as I want over there without affecting my U.S. license...Maybe try a different tack next time, that one didn't seem to go over so well.

Anyway, see you bitches at the track next thursday, if they don't lock me up for smuggling over prescription drugs not in my name. Peace out, chaps.

Off to London...

Got back last night, london was very cool, spent a few afternoons wandering around the city checking out all the usual tourist stuff. Saw many motorcyclists in the city, probably 90% were wearing full gear. And I'm not talking just aerostich either, I saw full one piece suits and sidi racing boots. These people take their riding seriously.

Also hired a car one day and headed out west of the city, checked out stonehenge and some other ancient historic sites. Driving a car over there was quite an experience, the secondary roads are narrow and windy as fuck and everyone drives very fast in little hatchbacks (we rented some 1.1 liter ford two door) but are very alert and courteous.

I couldn't figure out why the little hatch we rented appeared jacked up, until we got out to a place called Avesbury and started making our way up some secondary roads to some sort of ancient hilltop burial ground called Windmill Hill. Once the pavement ended and the car began diving into 8 inch ruts I was glad that our little hatch was offroad worthy. Turned out to be a bitchin place too, you could see for miles from there and because the road was so inacessible we avoided all the tourists that were found at places like Stonehenge.

All in all a very cool experience. Only downside is that everything costs pretty much twice as much as it would here. Combination of the exchange rate and taxes, I'm told.

Awesome, got any pics?

I think I'll actually be going soon too, and will be trying to live there for the summer.

So know anything about potential jobs?

And you're right about cars; the last time I was there, we were in a Rover hatch w' a 5-speed.

Glad you had fun. Driving over there is a trip. Did you happen to know the speed limit on all those B roads (within village limits excluded) is 60 MPH? It's probably the only place I've driven where I often times did not exceed the speed limit, even when I was the only car on the road.
