hah, don't hold your breath. i'm sure germany will squash costa rica's little team. plus it doesn't help costa rica that the germans have home advantage.

Leeds united is my team. I have supported them all my life.

They have a player in the USA world cup squad this year.

I don't really pay attention any more.

I used to, I went to all the foxboro games when we had the World Cup in the US in 1994.

I'll root for the US first of course. I always liked Ireland but they aren't in it, I like Italy and of course Brazil... I like the South American style more then the European style of play.

I'm not big on watching sports in general. I played soccer more then any other sport for most of my life so I do like it.. but I really don't like watching sports on TV... it's a huge waste of free time.

AMEN!!!

I too love the game... finally got to play some indoor this winter after a few years of not playing & that was terriffic, but that ended a month or so ago. If anyone plays in the Boston area & wants another player, lemme know

As far as watching the World Cup... i dunno how much i'll be able to catch, but i'll keep my ear to the ground to find out what's going on & definitely try to catch some of it on TV.

Nothing against the game itself but the fans and the sports governing body which doesn't seem to care. Well now they do because they want US fans and money.

I mean I can understand that US is ahead of europe on the issues of race. Interestingly it is because of slavery that we are where we are today. It's not really a soccer issue but a much larger issue. Still, seeing swastikas and nazi salutes in the stands is disgusting.

but over here they're enough of a minority that they're not gonna voice their opinions at a large sporting event cuz they know they'll get killed. they're more of a minority themselves than the minority they're against.

little late but i dont think fifa or the world cup gives a rats ass about us money

half the people actually watching football here are not watching for the us

the monies will be there
there arent in between people they either that fifa needs to try to be pc to win them over
people either like or dislike soccer

i would have to disagree
i watch all the italian games that are shown on tv and that is all the big market games and there was not an incedent this year or last year

spain yes
and england yes
but in the serie a i have not seen it
not saying it doesnt happen
but i watch almost 150 games this season and didnt see anything

one thing i know about over there are there are mad crazy neos and they run 20 deep and will do whatever they want like stupid nazi salutes

I beg to differ. I watch a lot of ESPN and I've seen about 3-6 world cup commercials a day for the past week or two. They are trying to sway the casual viewer to tune in and those national spots aren't cheap.
