Wondering if there are any musicians on the board. If you live close by to me, even better. I teach and play (piano, guitar, elec. bass, keyboard/piano, vocal, saxophone, percussion... even dabbled in trumpet and flute.) Anyway, I might be in need of some musical types. I'll post more details if I get some decent responses to this thread.

I took guitar lessons from age 7-9, took 2 classes in college, and have been playing recreationally in all the other downtimes.

What about jazz flute? Doesn't anyone play that?

This is a cool thread.. I didn't realize we had some musicians on Nesr.
My 2 passions are Bikes and Music. I'm just trying to deside whether or not i'm gonna continue with music being my main career or going to MMI and trying out being a bike mechanic. I've heard you don't do as much riding when you work for a dealership but I get a similiar high out of working on bikes and having the knowledge to fix any problem on a modern day sportbike/cruiser would be flippin SWeet of its possible

i haven't touched my gear in a while, but I've been playing bass guitar for 12 years (not counting the past two years that my gear has been sitting in a corner collecting dust).

Well, since you didnt specify what kind of musician you were looking for I played french horn (classical) for 11 years (last two off) and trumpet (jazz) for 4/5 years. I am hoping to get back into it, but have been out of touch for a couple years as well.

And I think I sing fairly well too, either soprano2 or alto1.

Let's see, well the band I'm in (was in? been a while since we rehearsed) is a cover band, but we do things a little funky:

Guitar/vocals
Bass
Drums
Piano
Trumpet
Trombone

Check out 'Miss you' and 'New and improved Chameleon' in particular. They were recorded at a rehearsal session last year.

Ideally, we'd be looking at more horns and a second guitarist/pianist... with the possibility of replacing our drummer. Hell, maybe I'll take some vocalist. We're just about having a grand ol' time and not trying to make $$ off of it - but if that happens to come our way, we'll take it.
