CRF450

Note the big hole in the crankcase...and the little nub sticking out....that is what's left of the connecting rod.

This motor detonated going at the entrance to T3, leaving a nice oil slick on the back straight......Will we see belly pans on motards in the future?

p.s. I HATE MOTARDS

There was a lot of oil. i used it as refference points, seemed to work good.

I heard Jerry say something about high compression pistons not being good when you haven't worked the rest of the engine.

According to the owner, everybody else he knows is running a high compression piston.....without a failure ....yet.

Besides, I think of Jerry as a politician with ulterior motives. Don't think I need to embellish on that.

A belly pan would have done nothing in that case

It's a honda... need I say anymore??

The Motards are rock solid reliable if the tard owners leave the motors alone

a belly pan may have prevented the poor guy behind him from breaking his arm and it may have prevented the 20min delay to clean up all that oil.

i just dont get it.... LRRS are a bunch of "safety nazis". everything on the bike has to be safety wired... even the muffler. (i guess i didnt realize there was huge epidemic of mufflers flying off of motorcycles) but if the bike doesnt come stock with a lower then you dont need an bellypan capable of holding 3qts of oil. even though its stated in the rulebook that ALL bikes Must have them

When will you learn? It all depends on what Jerry & his boys are running. THAT'S how most rules & exeptions are determined. You'd think you'd know this by know...

Safet Nazi's my ass......I could eliminate half the field if I were in tech.
Ox, I think its more political...or just bad luck for some people.
Rules at the tech garage appear to change like the weather.
Not complaining here. Personally, I think its a dirty job, but someone has to do it.
A fine example is when they gave Dan shit about his numbers on his tail of HIS bike, but tech failed to notice that evey other similar bike was numbered in the same fashion.......
