4 Second 0-60 Electric Car

TESLA ROADSTER

Unfortunately it only has a range of about 250 miles between charges.

But it looks pretty sweet.

Yeah but the more demand for these they get the more styles they will come out with and the lower the cost. This would also increase R&D which could allow for longer charge life.

4 Second 0-60 Electric Car

The significant thing is 250 miles/charge.

If they can figure out how to charge fast that is definitely enough range for many people.

250 miles is a lot longer than the range most electric cars have

4 Second 0-60 Electric Car

This one is advertised as 250 miles/charge.

Full charge takes 3.5 hours, which put it out for massive road trips but perfectly fine for most use for most people most of the time..

In fact if the battery can keep getting better they are going to kick *ss pretty soon.

The Tesla Roadster’s specs illustrate what it does (0 to 60 in about 4 seconds) — as well as what it doesn’t (zero emissions, zero motor oil). With one moving part in the motor, no clutch, and two gears, it’s not only a joy to drive, but to own as well. There is no motor oil to change; no filters, belts, or spark plugs to replace; no oxygen sensors to mistrust before an emissions test — in fact, no emissions test required ever. Other than inspection, the only service we recommend for the first 100,000 miles is brake and tire service.

How can this not be fun:

Style 2-seat, open-top, rear-drive roadster
Drivetrain Electric motor with 2-speed electric-shift manual transmission with integral differential
Motor 3-phase, 4-pole electric motor, 248hp peak (185kW), redline 13,500 rpm, regenerative "engine braking"
Chassis Bonded extruded aluminum with 4-wheel wishbone suspension
Brakes 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS
Acceleration 0 to 60 in about 4 seconds
Top Speed Over 130 mph
Range 250 miles EPA highway
Battery Life Useful battery life in excess of 100,000 miles
Energy Storage System Custom microprocessor-controlled lithium-ion battery pack
Full Charge As short as 3.5 hours

Couldn't you just keep topping it off with a quick charge. Obviously that only works if you don't do a full 250 each day.

I think it's pretty cool but that price tag is pretty outrageous. If I was gona drop that much on a sports car I want to hear some exhaust!

4 Second 0-60 Electric Car

My brother and I built an electric car about 5 years ago. It is a 196 volts dc powered '87 crx. It has 350 ft/lbs of torque from 0 rpm. It will roast the tires in third gear. It tops out at like 80 mph but it gets there pretty quick.

The downside is the range is only like 60 Miles.

Something tells me the 250 mile range is not applicable after a 4 second 0-60 demonstration.
