Breaking news on TV!! There is a small aircraft that crashed in a NY building not long ago!! I hope this is ONLY an accident and NOTHING more...

They are unsure as of now if it's an helicopter or a small aircraft:

POSTED: 3:02 p.m. EDT, October 11, 2006

NEW YORK (AP) -- Police say an aircraft has crashed into a building on Manhattan's Upper East Side at 72nd Street and York Avenue. It is near Rockefeller Center.

There was no word on casualties.

Video from the scene shows at least three apartments in the high rise fully engulfed in flames.

It's unclear if it was a small plane or a helicopter. FLames are spreading in other apartments...

A witness just spoke on CNN, saying she was on the phone talking to someone, when she saw a white, small aircraft, probably a 4 seater, NOT an helicopter, doing "acrobatics" and disapeared behind the building facing her apartment building, a few minutes later, she saw on the news the crash...

Update:

Associate press says that the plane was registered to a NY Yankee's, Cory Lidle. They don't know yet if he was in the plane. His passport was found on the sidewalk in front of the building where the plane crashed. There was an emergency call placed reporting a fuel problem onboard the plane. 4 deaths are reported as of now.

Now it is confirmed that NY Yankee's Cory Lidle was the pilot and he died in the crash. RIP...

Now it brings a question....they say small aircrafts are not required to be in contact with air control. They can just go by eye sight. How fucked up is it that an aircraft, and I don't care about the size of it, can get so close to a big city such as NY after what happend on 09-11??

We should just ban fucking planes completely. Cause of 9-11 and all that you know!
