That pic is actually a failed shotgun suicide attempt I believe. I know its a gunshot wound/suicide attempt anyways.

I don't believe its a shotgun wound. I could be wrong , but there isn't any powder burn around the wound. shotguns are dirty and you usually see powder burn and for lack of a better term soot.

I read years ago that it was an explosive accident but again you would usually see burns.

you really think someone with a wound like that is going to be sitting up to be photographed

It looks pretty real to me but I don't think it is from a bike accident. It looks like he tried to eat a firecracker.
