I took it to an upholstery shop and they suggested that I should just re-fill, wash, and brush it myself instead of leaving it with them.

Anyone know of any good places to re-vitalize a teddy bear?

My sister has had this thing for about 20 years and it's starting to fall apart. She's away on business, so I figure a revitalization as a christmas present would be nice.

Go to an arts and crafts store (like Joanne Fabrics) and talk to some of the older ladies that work there. Most all of them are very capable sewers and will help you out on the side for a bit of money.

Just make sure you act cool while you're talking to them; if you seem too excited they'll assume you're a NARC who's in there to bust them for running an illegal sewing ring.

Give the VT Teddy Bear company a call. They have a bear hospital for their bears, I don't know if they will take in other ones.
