NH Laws applying to employeesIf you are required to work 40 hours a week, I know you are by law allowed one 1/2 hour break in those 8 hours. Are there any breaks involved? Thanks |

NH Laws applying to employeesNo. NH employers are not required by law to give you a break other than your 1/2 hour (or 1 hour) mid-day break, provided that you don't work more than (I think) 6 consecutive hours. Or some shit like that... |

NH Laws applying to employeesi thought that labor laws were federal? if so its one half hour and 2 10 min breaks if you work construction and they tell you your break is only 15 (witch most construction companies say only one 15) tell them to stick it |

NH Laws applying to employeesAs the Forum Nazi stated... 275:30-a Lunch or Eating Period. – An employer may not require an employee to work more than 5 consecutive hours without granting him a 1/2 hour lunch or eating period, except if it is feasible for the employee to eat during the performance of his work, and the employer permits him to do so. Federal labor laws do not govern break periods other than requireing "coffee" breaks to be paid if an employer chooses to allow "coffee" breaks. Last edited by wylee : 12-08-06 at 02:46 AM. |

NH Laws applying to employeesI used to work at Home Depot and they would get pissed at me for working over 6 straight hours without a break. I guess they get in trouble from the state. I hated how they made you take a 1 hr lunch break that wasn't paid. As if it wasn't bad enough you had to be there 8 hrs they had to make it so you were there for 9 hrs. Also I found it unfair that any employee who smoked could take as many breaks as they wanted when they wanted and if you were a non-smoker and tried to take a break it was "hey quit screwing around and get back to work" And they wonder why I just stopped coming to work... |
