Whoring my services

I'm looking into starting my own business, and I'm trying to get some side-work going so I can start building up a client list. If anybody knows of anyone needed any kind of computer or network work, especially in the on the corporate side, let me know. I've got a Network Engineering background in large corporate networks, but I'll do anything related that pays the bills.

Good luck, working for yourself can be enjoyable and pay well but there is a good amount of groundwork to be done getting started.

One thing that many forget to factor in is that being self-employed you will be responsible for 100% of your social security taxes (called the self employment tax when you're SEP); if you're a standard employee half your social security is picked up by the employer. That means that with any rate that you charge, subtract 7.6% to compare it to what you would make as a W2 employee.

If I hear of any companies looking for IT work, I'll shoot you a line. Just started with a client down in southboro that manufactures fuel cells, but I believe they already have an IT contract. I'll ask around about whether they're happy with the people they're with though...

Well i don't have any work for you but i am an account manager with PC Connection and if either of you are looking for a vendor to partner with id be more than happy to put the corporate resorces at your fingertips. I can get all sorts of info from compatibility to to software licesing and save them a buck or 2 while im at it on procurement costs.

That said good luck with your new venture. I work with a bunch of guys like you and if you work it right you can do very well for yourself

Sure why not. If you already have the parts. If you don't, I wouldn't spend money on them though, not on an Acer.

PM Me if your serious.

actually i got no parts, but the computer is almost brand new. only used about 2 months before it happened. it was on sale for 600 and dont think it would be worth it to fix if more than a couple hundred bucks

but it does have 512 ddr2, 15" screen, dvd/cd combo burning drive, amd sempron 3000+ procesor

and dhuze i thought i told you to zip it
