If it wasn't for bad luck...

I would have none at all.

This evening I left the little one at my place with her Dad and ran out to do a bit of errands and such.

Stopped at one of the local shopping centers to run in to the Brooks Drug Store to grab a few things.

I was lucky enough to grab the closest parking spot that wasn't a handicap only spot. I get out of the car and walk across the parking lot, via the pavement painted crosswalk leading from parking spots to the store.

I'm probably 30 feet away from the car and approaching the store, while still in the crosswalk when a small (tiny actually) silver SUV comes around the corner of the lanes between parking spots and hits me. Thank God there wasnt much speed involved or things would have been much worse.

The vehicle stopped for a brief moment and then took off. Never stopped to see if I was ok, NOTHING.

This vehicle was tiny, like a geo tracker or something along those lines. Whoever was driving had failed to use their headlights. The parking lot was already pretty dark. I hadn't yet changed out of my work clothes so I was wearing all dark gray/black pants and blouse, jacket, etc.

I never got the plate number. I tried to collect myself and went in the store and of course no one saw anything. Neither did anyone in the parking lot as the place was dead. Why I didn't call the cops is beyond me. Probably because I didn't think much would come of it.

Yeah I'm alright. Felt nothing at first (adrenaline, maybe?). Starting to get sore though. Hopefully tomorrow I won't be gimpin' it.

I am just so damn thankful that I didn't have the little one with me. She goes with me everywhere and this was a rare situation in that she stayed here with her Dad while I went out.

Someone was watching over her tonight...

Glad you are ok and you didn't have the 'lil one. Go back and check with the store. Maybe there was a parking lot camera that got the plate or the car. It's also not too late to file a report with the police. Even though by now you probably wont find the person without a plate number it would be great if that person is stopped from doing it again. Plus an injury might develop. Just a thought.

Glad your ok

Lets hope you left a nice dent in their sheet metal

Of course we all know now that the slightest incident will have a law suit it almost makes sense to run.

If you had a single drink then the LAW would f*ck you up good

Not nice but it is a fact
