If anyone's in the market for new summer car shoes, here's my pick of the week.

General Exclaim UHP's from TireRack. These are rated as the #1 Ultra High Performance tire on Tire Rack & i saw a bunch of good reviews for em on various forums.

With shipping & road hazzard it only came to $380 for all 4 corners in 235/45/17. I can dig it.

Yes, if you want shitty tires with poor grip at a low price, those are great.

my favorite performance tires so far are Pirelli PZero Nero M&S. They felt like Michelin Pilot Powers for my car and lasted 42,000 miles.

I currently have a set of Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asymmetrical tires mounted and I'm not too thrilled with them. They aren't wearing any better than the Pirellis, are noisier than the Pirellis and they don't stick nearly as well either. The only reason I didn't stick with Pirellis this time was because I had a blowout over the summer (accidently hit a large pothole on 495) and I was desperate for a new set of tires and that was the best that my local Town Fair Tire had in stock for my rim size.

My car came with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires mounted and these sucked too. They wore out within about 32,000 miles and were not nearly as sticky as the Pirellis. They were also quite noisy cornering tires after about 15,000 miles.

I'm running Pirelli's on all my machines and so far so good.
