Truck upgrade help?

I am in the market to upgrade my brake system and have no clue as to what brands to look for or price's?

I plan on getting an oversized calipers-power coated, slotted rotors, carbon brake pads.

Where should I look and what brands have a good quality name?
Also would it be worth throwing on SST Brake lines while I'm at it?

Thats alot of money, are you autocrossing the truck or just compensating for the big wheels?

ya, the big brake kits w'll probably run ya around $4k, friend of mine converted his mustang.. I saw an eppisode with trucks that utilized the stock calipers that looked like a good compromize. They used the caliper paint, a spacer/bracket for the stock calipers, big rotors, SS lines and good pads.

How about Brembo? Red, black, silver or yellow!
Big Brake Kits
Maybe Ap Racing, you can get red or black with AP.

What is the purpose of the upgrade? To support towing, looks, unhappy with performance etc? Does it have disc all around? Baer and Brembo and probably the 2 biggest names I can think of off the top of my head.

If you just aren't happy with your braking power and you have drums in the rear just doing a rear disc conversation is cheaper and will add some added stop. Changing to different pads and SS lines (less flex = more pressure) may also help the situation

Looking for an upgrade to improve braking due to the increased rim/tire size. I could get away with slotted rotors, better pads, and paint the stock calipers for a better look. Brakes work fine as stock but are due for replacement anyways.

I have already spent enough on this truck. I wasn't sure if it would be worth doing it up with Baer or Brembo. Just throwing ot out there for idea's.

Upgrading the stock calipers would get very expensive very quickly, as someone else said.

Get some stainless lines, slotted rotors and/or the kit to put in bigger rotors, and spray those calipers a neat-o color, and you'll be all set.

Although why you would do all this crap to a 4x4 that you never plan on driving in anything worse than a snowstorm I will never know.

It actually has seen a slight bit of off roading on some of the job sites I have been sent too recently. Nothing all that off road title worthy, but it does get dirty! I rather it didn't..

Yeah, look for a kit that just provides new brackets so you can go with bigger rotors without getting new calibers.. that'll save you some coin.

You want better brakes. Take that thing to a Toyota Lot and get the New Tundra. Comes with better brakes and you will be all set. 380 horsepower aint nothing to sneeze at either.

I'm looking at something like this for my truck.

Performance Disc Brake Search Results from Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation (SSBC)

Summit Racing has them for cheaper... but my problem is the 18" min wheel requirement. I'd have to pick up some 18" for winter use.

+1, and change the fluid over to something better (ATE, etc.), make sure the line kit you buy replaces all the flexible lines in the truck and is DOT approved. Some of the cheaper kits only replace the front lines...

Are you fading the brakes or just want more stopping power?

If it's the latter can't you just upgrade the pads and call it a day?

If the latter how/why are you fading?
