Fun fact of the dayRecently, I had a Vietnamese person in my office. He was in trouble for being in possession of a small amount of cocaine. Since he did not speak English very well, he brought a family member along with him to translate. During our conversation, I was explaining this person's contract (for staying out of jail) to them. While this was being translated, I noticed that the translator kept saying the word "contract" in English. So, I guess, there is no Vietnamese word for contract? This seems difficult to fathom, as agreements and contracts seem to be rather important to civilization. ![]() |
