Bushy lower, DPMS upper, 16" stainless Bull barrel, Super Sniper 10x, LaRue SPR mount (highly recommended), etc... I made the adjustable stock on the Bridgeport... still trying to decide how I feel about it.

Still needs back up irons.
Still want to upgrade the trigger, too, but cash is tight. Eventually I want to get an ACOG and move the Super Sniper over to a .308 Bolt action I'll be building next. Toys are expensive.

That is a good covert clip but I'd look for something smaller, more 'cliffs notes' size.

Otherwise nifty looking weapon

Looking good. Does that stock have adjustments for up and down? Can you add weight to balance it? Sometimes I wish I was a machineist.

Thanks!
Yeah, It extends for length of pull via those two pieces of 1/2" drill rod and the butt plate can adjust up and down as well. I haven't made any provisions for adding weight yet, but I think I might mill a recess in the bottom and fill it with molten lead or something. I think it might actually be a good idea. That barrel's pretty heavy and the balance is close, but not perfect.

I'm a fucking idiot

Holy shit I must be a retard. I'm having to be corrected by beet.

You could just make some weights that match the butt and slide them on or off to get the balance you need. If you pour lead in you can't change anything without upsetting the balance.

True. I could always mill some of the lead out or add some, but I'd rather not mess with lead any more than I have to...
I've got some time to figure it out... the balance is close enough that I'm not going to bother fine tuning it until until I get those Troy back up Irons installed.

Yeah, MsMaster catalogs rule... It's all about those 'For more information.... see page xxxx). Tons of info in there on everything you can imagine from Bearings to UHMW Polyethelene. The catalog was kind of hard to get though, If I remember correctly. Those things must cost a fortune to print.

Picking up a case or two of ammo this morning. Gonna sight it in this afternoon.

Awesome. Thanks...
That's a good looking rifle. Is that based on the Remmington action? I'm leaning in that direction, but the Savage has adjustable headspace, so I wouldn't have to cut my own chamber on an aftermarket barrel, but I do like the Remmingtons better. Sinking the cutter into a brand new barrel gives me the willies.

I got the upper from Midway.

Now we're talking!
My toy fund is a little light at the moment. I was planning on a little over $800 for the Remmy which would mean it has to wait... maybe until mid-summer. I've got a little too much brewing at the moment.

$600 sounds a lot more like it.

good thing about savages they got a lot of followers.....if you go here...Savage Shooters - The only "All Things Savage!" website on the net! you can sell the barrel and stock and make some of your money back.....you can buy all the parts you need..for less...
heres a break down...
buy a stevens 200 in .308...279.00(whitefeild,nh)
heavy barrel in 308 from a 10 fp...150.00
stock from stockade out of the mold(you have to finish)200.00
trigger rifle basix...1 pound 70.00 or sharp shooter supply that adjust down to 10oz 90.00....
now minus the parts you take off
barrel unfired -50.00
stock-35.00

=614.00 give or take.....cant buy a remington for the price you could build a savage for....

You know what else would be cool to add to that is Bushmasters Enidine Hydraulic Buffer for Rifles. I am going to get one for my AR. I forgot about it. It came out last year.

Our rifle range is going to be down for a few weeks They are redoing the berms. Today they are clearing brush from the sides and replacing cables and bunkers. I can still shoot handguns or rimfires. But I want to shoot 200 yrds.

Anybody caught shooting anythin except approved targets will be kicked out of our club. We have only had a couple stray rounds at our indoor range hit the walls or ceiling and none were intentional.
